It is our pleasure to take part with the forthcoming exhibition The Paris of Modigliani and his contemporaries, which will be presented at the Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes (MPBA) in Mexico City, from March 26, 2020 through June 28, 2020. This exhibition aims to reach avast public and is of great relevance as it commemorates the centenary of the decease of the artist.

The core of this exhibition will be a selection of works from the Jonas Netter Collection of Modigliani and other painters active in Paris at thetime (such as Suzanne Valadon, Maurice Utrillo and Chaim Soutine). As well, these works will be in dialogue with works that register the friendly relations that Modigliani had with Mexican painters while living in Montparnasse: Diego Rivera, Ángel Zárraga, Benjamin Coria, among others.

The Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes (Museum of the Palacio de Bellas Artes) is the organization that takes care of the permanent murals and other artwork as well as arrange temporary exhibits. These exhibits cover a wide range of media and feature Mexican and international artists, focusing on classic and contemporary artists.

A catalog will accompany this exhibition.
